The Mounties are coming!
The magnificent Royal Canadian Mounted Police are this year’s star attraction! Don’t miss them – they’re only appearing with us in Devon and at HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

We’re also delighted to welcome Adam Henson from BBC’s Countryfile. He’ll be at the County Show on Thursday when he’ll judge rare breed sheep.

If you haven’t come to the County Show before, then you’re in for a treat! It’s a fabulous celebration of the great British countryside and a terrific day out, too. It’s also the curtain raiser for the start of the agricultural showing season across the South West.

Taunton Deane Borough Council is hosting the Torch on 21 May 2012 - Day Three of its marathon tour of the United Kingdom before it reaches the Olympic Stadium in July.

It's a huge opportunity for people in Taunton Deane - and further afield - to get involved in this global event and showcase the area to the world.

Few events can rival the intensity, drama and spectacle on offer at the Royal Navy’s premier air show. The Air Day, one of the Southwest’s largest one day events, will return this summer with an action-packed day out for all the family. Alongside the thrilling flying display there’s plenty to see and do on the ground – so whether you’re a wide-eyed first timer or a seasoned air show veteran, the experience will be incredible.

With the event regularly attracting over 30,000 visitors, significant UK and foreign military participation and support from the world’s leading aerospace companies, Air Day continues to build on its success. Last years show was awarded Silver at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in the ‘Event of the Year’ category.

Air Day 2012 will be commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Falklands Campaign with a thrilling flying and static display of fast jets, helicopters, historic warbirds, classic jets and formation aerobatic teams. The event will culminate with the traditional Commando Assault demonstration with plenty of aircraft, troops and pyrotechnics!

Throughout the day there will be plenty of entertainment on the ground for all the family including side shows, funfair, vintage, classic and military vehicles, service demonstrations, military bands, picnic areas, helicopter pleasure flights, simulator rides, trade stands and much, much more.

Legends of the West Country The Wurzels will be playing an intimate show in the unusual setting of The Museum of Somerset Courtyard in Taunton on Saturday 23rd June 2012. With doors opening at 6:30pm, there will be a BBQ with locally produced burgers, sausages and other local specialities, also Cotleigh Brewery will be serving locally produced Beers and Ciders throughout the night.

Few things rouse the emotions more than a male choir in full voice. Joining the choir is guest soloist and outstanding young Welsh soprano Rhiannon Llewellyn.

The stage is set for two stunning evenings of youth dance as companies from across Somerset take to the stage.

A varied programme of celebratory music

Truckfest is not just for those in the road haulage industry, the show is packed with fun things for all the family, and this year is no different. With Stars from T.V. and Stage and the very best in motorised entertainment from Bigfoot, Slingshot and motorcycle stunt acts. Truckfest is the original series of road haulage events that has captured the imaginations of it's fans for 30 years.

An evening of drama from Heathfield's dynamic Year 7

Taunton Flower Show is the premiere event of its type in the south-west and is a firm part of summer calendar in Taunton. Held in the centre of Somerset's county town in the historic Vivary Park, the show is not only a traditional British flower show but includes attractions for the whole family. From exciting arena events to the the spectacular floral marquee, the absorbing child's play area and Chelsea-style designer gardens, the show appeals to all ages.

If you are looking for an excellent fun and action packed day out for all the family, you'll love the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Traditionally this English fair is held at the village of Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside. Further directions are superfluous. Just find the village on the map, head in that direction and follow everyone else.
